SPoilER ALERT! I'm reading OREO now. Why should I know beforehand she gets her revenge? Brrr Yelper Whitey — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.166.96.86 (talk) 13:06, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

cleanup

[edit]

Some good info was added, and i rewrote it for clarity and formatting reasons. however, its still unreferenced. anyone who can reference this content, even if its a print-only publication with her biography, please do. some of the material i trimmed could be added back, but again only if referenced. the material i left her is in my judgement encyclopedic and likely to be referenced. i left her parents in as a courtesy, but they actually could be important to show her rise from a nonliterary background.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 20:48, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

she's NOT a living writer

[edit]

According to the bio on the back of the republished edition of Oreo from the Northeastern Library of Black Literature, she died in 1985 at age 50. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.248.2.174 (talk) 09:11, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
